Insider's Guide to Los Angeles Senior Living: Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills, one of the priciest and most exclusive neighborhoods in Los Angeles is also home to some of the most expensive and luxurious senior living communities in the area. While only a few assisted living properties actually reside in the Beverly Hills 90210 and 90211 zip codes, the area adjacent to Beverly Hills in the Mid-Wilshire area provides some of the best retirement communities in the Los Angeles area.

Below is a curated sampling of what is available in the Beverly Hills area. But, please don't make your decisions based on internet lists! Mine provide first-hand inside knowledge of what is out there, but most lists you find online are computer-generated clickbait, with no real human understanding behind them. You should always consult with a senior living expert like me whose job it is to know the strengths and weaknesses of the various communities and make sure you are making a wise decision. So start here, have a look at some options, then give me a call. My service is available at no charge to you.

Sarah says: “The Watermark at Beverly Hills operates much like a small boutique hotel on a convenient tree-lined residential street in the flats of Beverly Hills. The clientele is affluent and sophisticated, many having lived nearby before retiring to the Watermark or having relocated from places like NYC to be closer to children in the area."

Cost of Living at The Watermark at Beverly Hills

The community offers studios and one-bedroom units starting at $8,000 plus care. The Watermark at Beverly Hills offers the full complement of assisted living services including meals, personal care, medication management, housekeeping, laundry, transportation, and of course activities. The property has a variety of floor plans including shared suites, studios and large one- bedroom apartments."

Amenities at Sunrise of Beverly Hills

Sunrise of Beverly Hills offers both assisted living and memory care services, as well as short-term respite care stays. Memory care is in a separate wing called the Reminiscence Neighborhood. I particularly like the outdoor wrap around patio overlooking the sidewalk. It’s a welcoming place to sit and people watch while chatting with your new friends.

Sarah says: “Beverly Hills Carmel is two buildings, one on the North side of Burton Way and one on the South, both exuding old world European charm. One of the only Kosher assisted living communities in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills Carmel caters to a Jewish clientele looking for Beverly Hills convenience at an affordable price. Both observant and non-observant Jewish residents appreciate the culturally Jewish feel of Beverly Hills Carmel, particularly their afternoon tea."

Cost of Living at Beverly Hills Carmel

Carmel’s studios and one-bedroom units are larger than what you will find at some of their competitors. Prices start at $4,000/month plus care. Personal care is provided on an "a la carte" menu of services which includes escorting, laundry and room service.

Amenities at Beverly Hills Carmel

Beverly Hills Carmel offers assisted living and short-term respite care at both of their buildings. Someone looking for an action-packed schedule of activities may not be happy at Beverly Hills Carmel. But, if your loved on wants a slower, more elegant type of lifestyle within a Jewish setting, then Carmel may be a good choice.

FAQs

How much does it cost to live in a retirement community in Beverly Hills?

The average cost of living in an assisted living community in Beverly Hills is $7000 per month. This price fluctuates depending on several factors; the community amenities, the care required, the suite type chosen, and other options you may wish to add on. When we meet for the first time, we will ask you what you are looking for and what price point works best for you. We are here to assist you in finding your next home.

What type of care do assisted living facilities offer?

Most assisted living facilities can be broken down into three areas: Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. Independent living offers the least amount of daily care and is for individuals or couples looking to be in a community environment with some assistance with meals, medication management, security, and housekeeping. Assisted living is a slightly higher level of care with more daily living assistance with meals, personal care, and nursing assistance. Memory care centres are for people with Alzheimer’s or forms of Dementia and offer specialized programs, nursing care, and extra safety. If you are unsure which type is best for you or your loved one, we can help you decide.

Do you tour homes with us?

Yes! We can help narrow down options, schedule appointments, and go with you to help you with any questions and find out what you like and dislike about each place. We are here to assist you!

Do we have to pay for your services?

No, we are always a free resource for you and your family.
