Now onto the winners of the 2025 Family Choice Awards:

10. Westmont Senior Living, Culver City (#1 in 2024)
Located in the heart of the Westside, Westmont of Culver City is a newer, state-of-the-art senior living community offering a wide range of amenities and proprietary wellness programs designed to enrich residents’ lives. On-site amenities include a hair salon, movie theater, art studio, fitness classes, and a bistro.
Westmont is also known for its two signature programs: the Live Your Way® Wellness Program, which promotes a holistic approach to senior wellness, and the Compass Rose® Memory Care Program, designed for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
The community offers independent living, assisted living, and memory care all on one campus, with studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floor plans available. Despite its premium Culver City location, Westmont remains relatively affordable compared to other Westside senior living communities.

9. The Pinnacles at Burton, Beverly Hills (New to List in 2025!)
Formerly known as Beverly Hills Carmel, The Pinnacles at Burton consists of two charming buildings—one on the north side of Burton Way and one on the south—both exuding old-world European elegance. As one of the few Kosher-style assisted living communities in Los Angeles, The Pinnacles is especially appealing to Jewish seniors seeking a culturally rich environment in Beverly Hills.
The community welcomes both observant and non-observant residents and maintains a strong European atmosphere through traditions such as afternoon tea. The Pinnacles offers assisted living and short-term respite care, and while it may not be ideal for those seeking a highly active social calendar, it’s a wonderful option for seniors who prefer a slower-paced, refined lifestyle.
The Pinnacles also provides independent living, assisted living, and memory care, and despite its Beverly Hills address, it remains a relatively affordable senior living option.

8. Ivy Park Burbank & Studio City, The San Fernando Valley (New to List in 2025!)
Ivy Park at Burbank and Ivy Park at Studio City are two of the most sought-after assisted living and memory care communities in the San Fernando Valley, known for their stylish design, strong programming, and high-quality care. Operated by Oakmont Senior Living, Ivy Park communities combine a boutique feel with the operational strength of an experienced senior housing provider.
Both locations feature thoughtfully designed common spaces, chef-driven dining, fitness and wellness programs, and engaging daily activities that encourage social connection and independence. Ivy Park’s signature Viva Vida® wellness program supports residents across physical, intellectual, social, and emotional dimensions, while the Evergreen® memory care program provides a secure, enriching environment for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
Ivy Park Burbank and Studio City offer assisted living and memory care with a variety of studio and one-bedroom floor plans. These communities are especially well-suited for seniors who want a contemporary setting, consistent care, and convenient access to Valley hospitals, shopping, and family members.

7. Calligraphy Westwood Village, Westside (New to List in 2025!)
Calligraphy Westwood Village, formerly Watermark Westwood, is a luxury independent and assisted living community offering 24-hour concierge services and highly personalized care. Apartments feature floor-to-ceiling windows, with some offering sweeping views from the hills to the ocean and others overlooking vibrant Westwood Village.
This upscale senior living community boasts three dining venues, a fitness and wellness center, salon and spa services, and a spacious outdoor courtyard with a fireplace. Independent and assisted living residents can choose from a variety of one- and two-bedroom floor plans, while memory care residents are offered studio apartments.
Located just steps from top restaurants, shopping, and the UCLA Medical Center, every apartment includes a stovetop and in-unit washer and dryer—an increasingly rare amenity in senior housing.

6. Sunrise of Beverly Hills, Beverly Hills (#9 in 2024)
Year after year, Sunrise of Beverly Hills earns a spot on our list thanks to its exceptional location on Crescent Drive, adjacent to Whole Foods. This community offers both assisted living and memory care, and many of the residents we place here are largely independent but require light support such as medication management or standby assistance with bathing, but they do also provide 24/7 nursing support for high acuity residents.
Residents enjoy upscale amenities, a warm social environment, and walkable access to the surrounding Beverly Hills neighborhood. Sunrise offers studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments in assisted living, along with studio and one-bedroom options in memory care.

5. Belmont Village Hollywood, Hollywood (New to List in 2025!)
Belmont Village communities are widely regarded as some of the most luxurious senior living options in California. Belmont Village Hollywood Hills stands out for offering the same high-end experience as its sister communities, but at a more accessible price point compared to other Los Angeles neighborhoods.
One of Belmont’s most notable features is its exceptional dining program. Residents enjoy a full-service restaurant with an extensive menu that includes steak, salmon, and fresh, flavorful salads at every meal. The community also offers Belmont’s signature Circle of Friends® program, a specialized brain health initiative for residents experiencing mild cognitive changes who benefit from extra support without needing secured memory care.

4. The Gardens at Park Balboa, Van Nuys (#3 in 2024)
A true hidden gem in the San Fernando Valley, The Gardens at Park Balboa offers a peaceful, park-like setting with lush landscaping and walking paths throughout the campus. This family-run community provides independent living, assisted living, and memory care in a welcoming, no-frills environment.
Known for its excellent value, attentive staff, and strong leadership—including on-site nursing—the community is particularly well-suited for independent seniors with limited budgets. Oversized one-bedroom apartments are a standout feature, and the food is consistently excellent (we’ve eaten there ourselves).

3. Belmont Village Westwood, Westside (New to List in 2025!)
Belmont Village Westwood is widely regarded as one of the premier luxury senior living communities in Los Angeles. Built in conjunction with UCLA Emeritus & the Retirees Association, and located on the Wilshire Corridor near Westwood Village, UCLA, and the UCLA Medical Center, this community attracts an accomplished, intellectually engaged resident population.
Residents enjoy amenities such as a café, movie theater, outdoor patio, swimming pool, and gourmet dining room. Belmont’s affiliation with UCLA brings professors, speakers, and thought leaders to the community for lectures on topics ranging from current affairs to art history. The entertainment ties of many resident families also result in special film screenings and guest talks from notable directors and writers.
The community offers studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, and like Bemont Hollywood Hills offers independent, assisted living and memory care featuring the Circle of Friends® program —making it the go-to choice for Los Angeles’ most discerning seniors.

2. Ana’s Residence Care, North Hollywood (#10 in 2024)
Ana’s Residential Care is the only board and care home to make our list this year—and for good reason. Privately owned and impeccably maintained, Ana operates two six-bed board and care homes in North Hollywood, both designed to support residents with high physical care needs or advanced dementia.
Board and care homes are ideal for individuals who can no longer benefit from the amenities of large senior living communities. At Ana’s, residents receive deeply attentive, hands-on care in a warm, intimate setting. Clients are treated with dignity, served delicious home-cooked meals, and cared for with genuine compassion and kindness.

1. Silverado-Beverly Place, Mid-City (#4 in 2024)
Silverado Beverly Place is a standout even among Silverado’s nationally recognized memory care communities. The building is thoughtfully designed to support residents at different stages of cognitive decline, with specialized programs on each floor—from early-stage memory loss in The Loft to more advanced Alzheimer’s and dementia care.
What immediately sets Silverado apart is its exceptional staffing model. Caregivers, nurses, social workers, music therapists, and physical and occupational therapists are highly visible and deeply involved in residents’ daily lives. Every staff member, including maintenance personnel, is trained in dementia care.
We highly recommend Silverado Beverly Place for individuals in the early to mid stages of Alzheimer’s or dementia who would benefit from a robust, evidence-based activity program focused on cognitive health and overall well-being.
